I Love Ms. Lauryn Hill

If you haven't had the chance to listen to Lauryn Hill's music, it's my opinion that you're missing out. I first discovered Lauryn Hill's (aka L-Boogie) brilliance after I had watched Sister Act 2 after school one day. In awe of her voice, I searched Youtube and found her music as a member of the Fugees, and her solo albums The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and  Lauryn Hill Unplugged No. 2.0. At a time when female emcees like Nicki Minaj were on the rise, it was refreshing to see that a beautiful natural black woman with a creative mind and great voice made music that did not sexualize herself but rather spoke on knowledge and empowerment. I was 12 then and have continued to love her music and what she stands for up until this very day.
